Balkan Youth in the Age of Polycrisis

Articles published online ahead of issue assignment. All manuscripts have successfully completed the peer-review process, have been accepted for publication, and are published in their final version. Each article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and is fully citable immediately after online publication. Once the special issue is completed, the papers will be assigned to a regular issue of Youth in Central and Eastern Europe.

This special issue examines the contemporary situation of young people in the Balkans in the context of multiple and overlapping crises. The published papers explore social change, education, mental health, identity, values, migration, civic and political participation, labour market transitions, demographic change, and future aspirations of young people across Southeast Europe. Bringing together contributions from several Balkan countries, the issue provides a comparative perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing youth in the age of polycrisis.
