Youth in Central and Eastern Europe (YCEE) respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. Personal data are processed in accordance with applicable legislation, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

This Privacy Statement explains the principles governing the collection, processing, storage, and protection of personal data related to the journal's activities.

The journal may process the following personal data:

  • name and surname,
  • e-mail address,
  • institutional affiliation,
  • ORCID identifier (if provided),
  • information related to the editorial and peer-review process.

Personal data are processed exclusively for:

  • managing the editorial workflow,
  • communication with authors, reviewers, and editors,
  • conducting peer review,
  • publishing scholarly articles,
  • maintaining editorial records and archives.

Personal data are not used for marketing purposes and are not disclosed to third parties except where required by law.

4. Disclosure of Personal Data

Personal data are accessible only to individuals involved in the editorial process according to their roles within the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

After publication, only information necessary to identify the published work is made publicly available, including:

  • author's name,
  • institutional affiliation,
  • ORCID identifier (if provided).

5. Data Retention

Personal data are retained for as long as necessary to complete the editorial process and to preserve the scholarly record in accordance with applicable legal and institutional requirements.

6. Rights of Data Subjects

Individuals whose personal data are processed have the right to:

  • access their personal data,
  • request correction of inaccurate data,
  • request restriction of processing,
  • request deletion where permitted by law,
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
