Publication Fees

Youth in Central and Eastern Europe is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal operating under the Diamond Open Access model. Both authors and readers have free access to all journal services. The Editorial Office does not charge any fees at any stage of the editorial or publishing process.

This Publication Fees Policy explains the journal's funding model and confirms that no fees are charged for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing or publication.

1. Diamond Open Access Model

Youth in Central and Eastern Europe follows the Diamond Open Access publishing model, providing immediate and permanent open access to all published articles without charging authors or readers.

This model promotes the free exchange of scientific knowledge and supports equal access to research results without financial barriers.

2. No Submission Fees

The journal does not charge any Submission Fee for manuscripts submitted for consideration.

All submissions are evaluated solely on the basis of their scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor and relevance to the journal's scope, regardless of the authors' financial resources or institutional affiliation.

3. No Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The journal does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs) for accepted manuscripts.

Authors are not charged for:

  • peer review;
  • editorial assessment;
  • copyediting and proofreading;
  • DOI registration;
  • publication of the article;
  • online open access dissemination.

4. No Hidden Charges

The Editorial Office does not impose any additional or hidden publication-related fees.

Authors are not charged for supplementary materials, figures, tables, colour illustrations or any other components of the manuscript.

5. Funding of Publishing Activities

The journal's publishing activities are financially supported by the Publisher and institutions supporting the journal's scholarly mission.

The journal's funding model does not influence editorial independence, the peer-review process or editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

6. Equal Access to Publishing

The Editorial Office ensures equal access to the publication process for all authors, regardless of their country of residence, institutional affiliation, source of research funding, financial circumstances or professional status.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the scholarly merit of the manuscript, its originality, methodological quality and relevance to the scope of the journal.

7. Transparency of Funding

The sources of financial support for the journal do not influence editorial independence, the peer-review process or decisions concerning the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

The Editorial Office operates in accordance with the principles of transparency, editorial independence and good publishing practice recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

8. No Reviewer Fees or Honoraria

Peer reviewers contribute to the journal on a voluntary basis as part of the international scholarly community. The journal does not provide financial remuneration or honoraria for peer-review activities, nor are reviewers required to pay any fees related to their participation in the peer-review process.

In recognition of their valuable contribution, the Editorial Office may issue certificates acknowledging completed peer reviews and, with reviewers' consent, publish an annual list of reviewers who have contributed to the journal.

9. Changes to the Publication Fees Policy

Should the journal's funding model change in the future, the Editorial Office will announce the revised Publication Fees Policy on the journal's website well in advance.

Any changes will not affect manuscripts already undergoing editorial or peer-review processing, nor will they apply retrospectively to articles that have already been published.

10. Compliance with International Standards

This Publication Fees Policy has been developed in accordance with the principles and recommendations of:

  • Diamond Open Access;
  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ);
  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
  • Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

The Editorial Office is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair and barrier-free publishing model that supports open access to scholarly knowledge while ensuring the highest standards of editorial integrity and publication ethics.

This Publication Fees Policy has been developed in accordance with the principles of Diamond Open Access, the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the standards of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
